Tim: You may well be right, I will not argue with that. However if those cables are not up to snuff, all the rebuilds going may not improve a thing. I tend to look and make sure the cheaper fix is not overlooked. I had a 6.2 Chevy diesel, and those starters were notorious for going bad. I replaced the battery cables with 1 gauge, which is substancially heavier than original equipment and that cured the problem.
