I recently purchased a '53 Super M that has live hydraulics and the battery under the seat etc. and I am confused about the hydraulics. It has the remote unit attachment and the bypass is connected back into the casting much like the ones that had the old belly pump. The center casting has holes on the side which are plugged and appear to be in the same location as the connections for the hoses on the old M's and the early Super M that still had the old belly pumps. Did IH just use the same old castings or does it have a belly pump also? If it does not have a belly pump how does the oil from the remote get back into the reservoir that is under the gas tank?
