I just rebuilt my H and it was a multi fuel tractor. I replaced the head with a gas head and installed Tisco domed pistons. I wanted higher compression and more horse power. It has magneto ignition.I was reading on here a while back and saw a post saying that with the high compression set up that you need a distributor ignition to be able to get enough timing. Is this true? Did straight gas burners not come with magnetos? My tractor starts and runs great. But it wants to run up to about 195 to 200 degrees when working hard. Is this normal? I have a 180 thermostat in it.
