I usually hang out on the orange page, but a couple of friends who pull an H in the antique (stock) class want to know how to use steel wheels on the rear of their H to save some weight. The classes have been changed and they need to get the tractor down to less than 3500 lbs, or be competing with tractors up to 4500 lbs. I think they are down to around 3700 lbs now, and are thinking if they could get rid of the heavy cast wheels and use a steel wheel bolted or welded to the rim they could save a fair amount of weight. Do any of you red folks know how , or if, this can be done?? Thanks.
