Over the past few weeks, I have found several good answers here. Now here's another problem. My IH 300U runs fine and when the clutch is depressed the engine off loads (no resistance) and everything works as it should EXCEPT if I'm on a hill or pulling something it is stuck in gear. The clutch doesn't seem to release so as to shift. This has left me in some tough positions - front wheels off the ground etc. I adjusted the clutch as per the manual and once in a while it will coast backwards with a rattling sound, but not with a load. I posed this problem to my local Farmall/IH mechanic and he agreed that I should ask the expertise of this group (he didn't know either). There is no TA on this tractor. Any help will be appreciated and I will continue to glean helpful info from this site. Thanks
