I wanted to ask the group what you think my tractor might be worth. I don't really want to sell but I may have "picked up the scent" of a MTA, and I'm about to have too many IH projects. If I could get a good price for mine I might be persuaded to let it go. So I'm just curious: My tractor is a 1949 Cub. By the serial # it's the 10th '49 built. In fact, there's a picture of it before I bought it in Spencer Yost's Antique Tractor Bible. I got it sort of as a "fixer-upper" and it still needs a lot. It's a cute little booger but it needs some mechanicals to make it nice. Right now the carb. gasket is spitting gas and it won't run, hopefully it's just a gasket and not a warped carb. Governor is not very responsive. Has a new-repro silver seat, and new teardrop headlights. I had the starter rebuilt but I use the hand crank: it has mag ignition, no other wiring right now. Had the mag cleaned and services last summer. New 45deg. "old style" Firestone rubber all the way around. Very nice sheet metal, no dents. Touch Control. No battery box or tool box, no gauges in instrument panel. Some !@#$head broke a chunk out of the clutch housing but all other castings are unbroken and casting numbers seem to line up. It's going to need a clutch job before long. Steering is not the tighest but not the loosest either. It smokes a little. I have a set of front universal mounting frames but no rear, just the drawbar. PTO is nice and quiet. Also have a belt pulley for it. Sooooo, what do you all think it's worth? I know I won't get my money out of it, But sometimes we're willing to make sacrifices for another tractor! What would you do? Does "The Diesel" as I like to call it stay or go?? Thanks, Al

Picking Corn - by Rick Nikolich. It was the day before Christmas shutdown at work and I asked our lead engineering expert Scott Andrzejewski what he was going to do over the holidays. He said that he had some corn that he still needed to pick with an antique one-row New Idea corn picker. Scott has a nice farm about an hour north of Lansing in St. Johns, MI. He wanted to get the rest of his corn in by the next day (Christmas Eve). We had about an inch of new snow on the ground and single digit temperatures. So in the bac
