What year md has bat under seat

what year did they put the battery under the seat on a md? i bought it i just have to wait till the truck im gonna use is not busy. it has the old farmall steel logo on front like a m from 39-52. It also has a 9 speed tranny. i paid 2100 for it i think thats a really good price as you dont see too many around. i have only seen i in person and that was in the 90's. It says MD on the hood. I asked for s.n. but the guy dosent know alot about them. also i tried to explain the casting date system to him and asked if he would find one or two but he is real busy and hasent responded yet.
