The early (before the 424 & 2424 tractors came out) factory parts book for the 2000 loader shows the loader was intended for 240, 340, 404, 460, 504, and 606 tractors. My 2424 came new with the 2000 loader. So I"m convinced the 2000 was intended to fit the 424 / 2424. Now I totally agree that too much loader is a problem for any tractor because the rear end doesn"t have enough weight for normal traction. The loader parts book shows a weight box for the back of the tractor, and almost any tractor with a loader on it needs a LOT of extra weight on the back. Most industrial backhoe/loaders work successfully only because they have the entire hoe hanging back there to counterbalance the bucket. Anyway, a lighter loader sure won"t be a problem, but if you run across a 2000 series it should fit up nicely and won"t overload your tractor if you put some weight on the back. My opinion anyway.... Good luck, Larry
