A guy I know has a 460 diesel, narrow front he wants to sell. He says the only thing the tractor needs a head gasket(how many times have I heard that?) Do these engines commonly have head problems and what is the likelyhood it wouldn't require anything but a gasket or having the head and/or block decked? He says it just started leaking and says the tractor still runs good only it is bubbling in the coolant. Apparently it is bad enough to not be able to use the tractor any length of time. Is there anything out of the ordinary to look for on these machines if I do decide to go look at it? Is it practical to consider converting it to a wide front? He wants $1800 for the tractor and says this is the only thing wrong with it. He isn't much of a BS artist and has never given me any reason to doubt his word in the 5 years or so I've know him. Thanks for any and all resposes.
