Over the last couple of years Ive taken off alternators from my tractors and put generators back on.Why,dont know, just like the originality. All of these alternators are the same and came from the same place which has unfortunately been one victim of the big chain stores.Based on Bob Ms diagrams of the 12 conversion it appears as though the backs are the same as the 10-SI.Any stampings on those that may help as there are no other marking of any type? Also these has what ,if my memory serves ne right, the guy who sold these to my father called a cut out on them where the plug is with exception to one that was mounted on the coil bracket that ,again memory, the guy said was a Dodge cut out.I am trying to find out any thing I can about this cut out as it appears to work very well and eleiminates the need for a diode or light, but still allows you to use a light if you like.Any ideas of where I can start?Im planning on taking one to an alternator shop as soojn as time allows but just wondered if anyone here could help.
