Hi all,
I have a 500c that is on the bubble, ok at the moment it has burst my bubble so I thought I would see if there is enough interest in parts to justify parting it out or not.
The little D155 runs like a watch and may be the only thing on it that isn't leaking oil. Last week I had to use some pipe and lots of epoxy to patch up the hose connections for the lower radiator hose and bypass hose as I couldn't quickly find a water inlet cover and mine was corroded pretty bad. Other than that the engine is fine.
The torque converter drive system has always worked great for me, I have had it about 8 years and no issues there.
As for the rest, If it can leak it does, the left steering clutch is stuck and the right one is slipping (great if you just want to go in circles I guess). The hydraulic lines are pretty sad except for what I have replaced and it just blew another for the bucket (thus my aggravation at the moment) and I have a Davis backhoe welded to the back of it and it too needs all new hydraulic lines.
The left track wheel has been replaced with one from another machine and that track has a cracked link, but I have 2 extra tracks so no biggie other than the work of doing it.
And none of the electrical is even hooked up except for the starter, hey that's how it was when I got it. LoL
Fact is I have about $5k in this thing, and being unemployed and just doing odd jobs for the last 10 years hasn't given me the ability to go though and fix it's problems as I had hoped. With a fair bit of work and probably about $1k in parts and hoses it could be a real get-er-done machine. I just don't have the time or financial resources to do it.
Anyway, I thought it might be worth a shot to see what kind of interest there may be in parts or maybe someone will want the whole ugly thing.
