Building Farmall Tractors | I grew up in Missouri in farm country. At 16 I went to work for a farmer and worked with a Farmall M. I loved to plow and disc with this tractor. When I turned 18 I moved to Rock Island, Illinois and went to work for International Harvester in the Farmall tractor plant building tractors. That was 1965. I guess I worked in every aspect of building these tractors. I worked there until the plant closed in 1985. I still miss the old tractors and once in a while I go back to rock island and drive by the old factory.
