| 05:53 05/19/15 The FindI was cruising the local craigslist ads the other weekend and came across a "john deere sorghum harvester" listed in the farm and garden section. I could tell right away it was a corn binder and it piqued my interest for many reasons. I knew it was fairly rare, I had never seen one before, and it was only 15 minutes from home no less. I called on it and the guy told me where it was if I wanted to look at it. I went and found that it was seemingly complete, in good shape, everything was free and seemed to have been well greased. It was originally used in a sorghum molasses operation then it sat in a shed for 40 plus years. I immediately called the guy back and he met me out there and we struck a deal. I'm very nervous about just hooking this thing up to the PTO and letting it rip. My first order of business is oiling chains, installing new grease fittings, lubrication, and seeing if I can get it to turn by hand. My next goal is getting it operational, using it to bundle up some fall decorations, and then contemplate a restoration. Here are some photos. | | |

What are Project Journals?
Project Journals are a place where YT Community members can document their tractor and farm projects. Each journal created, can have many photos and accompanying text entries. You can also enable comments to allow other members of the YT Community to comment on your journal. If you do enable comments, it is up to you to moderate what people enter in your journal according to the site policy of Yesterdays Tractors. Journals may also be used as photo posting area, to post your photos of your farm, tractors and related photo topics. If you would like to create a journal, just be sure you are logged in to the Classic View of the forums, and a link will appear to do so when you next come to this page. . |

The Rescue of a Fordson F - by Anthony West. Introduction I live in the UK and have for many years restored Fordson tractors (in the main model N's). I have also restored and shown model F's, E 27N's, Field Marshall Series 2, David Brown Cropmasters and the old rey Fergeson T 20. At one time I had seven restored examples which were shown and used in ploughing matches. As most restorers, I have a number of war stories I can relate on a range of topics that may help other like minded and interested people. Perhaps my first p
