Short term control-Never found an effective solution other than hand-picking.
Long term control-Disturb/flip any piles of brush, compost, etc. after freezing weather sets in. The adults overwinter in them. We did this a number of years ago when our potato plants were infested. All of the adults froze after we did this, and we haven't had any bugs on our plants since. Of course, it won't work if you have a close neighbour with a bug-infested potato patch.
