I bought one of those $500 outdoor playsets for my Daughter last summer, ice / windstorm came along this winter and absolutely destroyed it.. can re-use the slide and the long arm with the swing equipment, going to build a 4"W by 8"L playhouse, with the house being 4W by 6L with a two foot porch, I am planning on using treated 4"x4" posts at each corner and one on each side in the middle. Treated 1/2" plywood floor with 2"x4" floor supports. How far apart do these need to be for a couple of less than 75 lbs. kids and would you lay your framing 2x4"s across the top of the posts (will be 4" high after burying in concrete 18 inches), or would you put the 2x4"s up on edge, lag screws holding them to the inside of the posts and run your floor 2x4"s on edge above them? Hope I didn"t make this real confusing.
