Passing the shed the tax man wanted to know what I was going to do with that big pile of baling wire. I told him that there was a tractor under there somewhere. He left when I told him that he may be able to get blood out of a turnip, but I sure hoped he had the turnip.

I don't think they (our elected respresentatives, boy, that word is a joke) will go for a sales tax, because if and when the next recession hits, the governments pay will go down, just like ours. That might force some layoffs in the federal and state workers, and we sure don't want that to happen. How many folks have noticed,when there is a government holiday, how light the traffic is going to work. Man, we are carrying a heavy load, something has to change.

Disclaimer: I don't mean to offend, only to voice what I have been stewing about for a while.
This government we have is the same government that declared it was "God's will" for the US to expand over the continent and take everything. The Indian in me laughs at the white man's plight while my white half cries at the same time. Do you know that there were thousnads of treaties made with just over 500 recognized tribes and about the only promise kept was to take the land from the Indian? This same government that think, moralizes, and cares for the Indian would like to think, moralize and care for YOU. The Indian's guns, land, and property were taken from them in much the same way your property, guns, and wages are taken from you. The Indian's freedom was taken from them and day by day, legislative session by session, your freedoms are being circumscribed and limited one at a time. I laugh, and I cry, and I watch for the day when your lives will be known by your numbers and your lives taken from you by this government. I can't recall anything that has been given back after the government has taken it except that it has been rendered useless. Just the thoughts of one man, Me
