: I'm in the process of restoring a 1972 JD112. The front tires are worn and need to be replaced. The original tires were Goodyear Terra Tires. Goodyear tells me that they no longer make a Terra Tire that looks like the 1972 version. I'd like my restoration to look "correct," and new Terra Tires are noticeably different from the original. Any thoughts on what to do? I've already tried Miller Tire - no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have a tractor like yours. The front tires were getting worn and the engine pull rope flange would dig into the left tire if I turned to hard on a hill side. As I recall the tires were quite smooth, with groves going around the tire, not side to side and not knobby. I replaced them with the rear tires from a smaller riding mower. A purist I was not, just glad to recycle old junk and save money. Do you need a HH 100 Techmseh engine for this tractor? I could make you a deal on a fresh one. Paul
