JD, What is it?

I have the opportunity to purchase a JD 420, by the lag. The issue is
that I am not sure of the model: the steering shaft runs horizontal like an M not at
about a 45 degree angle as all I have seen. Also, it seems that there is
more ground clearance on this machine. Any help???
