: : Last time the tractor ran it was running perfectly
: : went to start and nothing. The battery is good!
: : the starter was working ferfectly. All you get is a
: : clunk. I rocked the tractor to see if the starter had hung up with no results. I asked my wife if she heard any mettalic sounds (bearings) and she said the tractor was working perfectly, no strange sounds. She backed it into the shed and shut it off. I would appreciate any pointers.
: : thanks!

:
: I'd bet first on a locked starter. Put the tractor in 5th gear and rock it backwards to release the starter. You can also loosen the bolts which mount the starter and it will release if that's the trouble. Don't overlook a bad starter switch if it made a noise once then things stayed silent. Recently had that happen on an M.
: Good luck!

Thanks for the advice I'll try those things next time we go out to NE. Just one of those strange
happenings. I'll let you know who guessed right!
