I Just bought a 1963 Ford 4000 HD Industrial 4 cyl gas with select-o-speed transmission. Metal in good shape, but original paint needs to be removed and repainted. Power steering pump is seized up but repairable. Comes with Ford 720 front bucket. I paid $1150. I looked it over very carefully prior to purchase. From what I've read, the select o speed transmission is a negative. All of the gears work on the one I purchased but if they fail count on almost $1500 to replace. Looking to find owner's manual and/or operating manual. Be interested in hearing how you make out. ---John
: : DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT A '63 OR '64 FORD 4000, GAS, WITH SELECT-O-MATIC, IN GOOD SHAPE, IS WORTH?

: Bob,
: I bought a '64 Ford gas two years ago. Good mechanical
: condition, fair paint and sheet metal, needed tires. My tractor,
: however, is the 4 speed model - not the select-o-matic. I do not
: know how this effects the value. I paid $ 2,800 and I've gotten
: good service from this tractor. Maybe this gives you some insight.
