: I purchased a JD 345 after agonizing like you over what to purchase. All I can say is there is nothing like a JD! We are so pleased with it. Well designed, well engineered, easy to use, smooth (hydrostatic is definately the way to go!). We have 3 acres of very hilly lawn. I actually look forward to mowing it. Sounds wierd, doesn't it?

: : I am in the market for a new tractor, mostle for work around the yard. I need something that gives a smooth ride due to back problems. It seems the bigger tired machines ride better and am looking at garden tractors as opposed to lawn. Can someone give me some good advise? There are so many its hard to decide. Why are JD's so much more than murray or MTD? are sears any better than MTD or Murray? SHould I go Hydrostatic? HELP!!!!!!

after looking at everything out there i bought a
18.5 h.p. mtd - we mow about 3 acres, and after
two years of hard use have not had any problems
also i spent $1950 , which was a lot less than
the big name machines-- they all are short wheel
based, with no supension so the ride quality
is in the seat- good luck
