: Check out this months issue of WOOD magazine. it explains alot about HVLP spray guns.

: : : : I am looking for a hvlp sprayer. What is a decent make and where could I get one?

: : : John,
: : : Ill tell you the best HVLP paint gun out there is the accuspray. The Eastwood Co. sells these. The thing about this gun is that its not a copy of a previous gun like a devillbis or a binks. They have a model that uses your existing air supply for around 300 dollars that dosent require a turbine system. The money you save on paint will pay for the gun. The best thing about it is its easy to use. Contact the Eastwood Co. you wont be disapointed. 1-800-345-1178

: : What size compressor does it require?

: I use mine with a 5hp, 60 gal campbell hausfield and keep the regulator wide open. The idea with these guns is you put between 60 and 80 PSI in the gun and you get 6 to 8 PSI out of the gun. Sounds too good to be true. I can actually hear myself think when I paint and the paint goes on so smooth. Remember, these guns are also designed to use turbines and the eastwood one is rated at 85CFM at 5 PSI, I quote. so just about any decent size will work. The important thing Ive also found is that when shooting metallics. Get the pressure as high as you can or it might streak. With this gun, my devillbis MBC and sharpe 975 basecoat guns are gatering dust.
