Could be a couple of things. the dip stick is below the lift lever
on the right hand side. if there is a small hole in a 4" dia plate
thats where it was. next to the gear shift is a large nut that is
the fill plug. I use the "134" universal hydraulic oil. Your gears
hydraulics and differential all run in the same oil. It takes 5gallons
to refill from empty. The pump doesn't run when clutch is depressed. if lift drops
fast when you depress clutch, sounds like a leak in a gasket.If you remove
the cover plate that the dipstick is in, you can watch the pump running.
not actually the pump as its under the oil. if you see swirls that's where
the pump sucks in. if you see "mounds" of oil thats a leak. also if it runs
from any joints. I've worked on several of these and it seems the castings crack at
the valves. You may have to remove the cover plate from the left side with the shift
handle init to see the other side.
