You might have bad gas, had the same problem last summer, I was trying some kind of fuel cleaner/water remover also in the gas, drained the tank in the feild put in fresh gas, ran it a minute and it ran fine, I've had my filters clog before and instead of the engine slowing down it just died, but It could be a number of things, It could just use a carb ajustment
