: : : What size hydraulic pump and motor would it take to couple the motor with a chain/sprocket direct to a rear end of a homemade tractor. Would it be strong enough or should i go through a transmision? Any help or ideas would be apprecated. Also we will be using a 6cyl. gas engine Thanks for the help! B.Neal
: : we are going to use a 355 ratio rear end out of a ford truck . with 15in.wheels . we plan on skid loader tracks . brakes for steering .maybe we should just go with two transmissions in line and skip the hydraulic drive. I just dont know? but trying to learn Thanks for your time B.Neal

: Maybe a four wheel drive gear box could be found. The " 4 wheel low "should give you all the reduction you need with this setup. My brother-in-law twisted the axles and broke the differential on a brand new Chevy, when he neglected to release the emergency brakes, prior to trying to pull a heavy trailer load. Bonehead
Thanks for all your help. Sooner or later we will figure out just how we want to build it. We will keep picking up parts and maybe put them together some day . Any other thoughts? if so let me know. thanks B.NEAL
