: I have a Wisconsin AB engine which I've been told is from the 1950's
: era engine. It's horizontal shaft and I was wondering if anyone
: might know what horsepower it is?
: E-mail me if you need more info.

I have just finished rebuilding a 1952
Wisconsin AKN engine. The manual I have shows a AB engine to have a 2.5 inch bore and 2.75 inch stoke with 13.5 cube inch displacement.
The horsepower table shows the following for the AB engine.

RPM HORSEPOWER
1400 1.7
1600 2.0
1800 2.3
2000 2.5
2200 2.7
2400 2.9

I know these figurs don't look like they are enough for the size and weight of your engine.
My engine is the same block as yours but is bored to 2.875 inch for 17.80 cube inch. Its rated at 5 horsepower.
If you have the serial number from your engine I can help you find out what year it was made.
Wisconsin Engines made in the 50's have serial numbers 1360067- 3020688.
If I can be of any other help my e-mail address is mccordr@cgb.com
