mark, i bought a big craftsman garden tractor
and have had good luck with it. it is not a JD, or a toro, or a
honda, but it also did not come with a jd/toro/honda
price tag either.
i felt it was a good value for the $$ required.
the absolute cheapest option will be the engine
suggestion already given. generally always cheaper
to fix something that can be fixed. if its a
rusting hulk, that's another story.
