: We are using, or trying to use a 3 hp Military
: engine that is hooked to a pump that was used for
: fuel transfers. It is made by Chrysler. It has a
: side draft carbuerator. It was a self contained
: unit with a 5 gal gas can mounted in the framework
: with the pump. Maybe someone was in the Military
: and worked on this unit, the one we have was electronic
: ignition and the module died, we found another that
: is standard ignition and I have it running, but need
: point gap spark plug gap, carb settings etc. This is
: for our brush truck on the Volunteer fire dept and
: would appreciate any suggestions, maybe wher to acquire
: the electronic ignition module? Thanks
For about $10.00 at a lawn and garden shop you should be able to get a universal ignition module. It hooks to the kill wire of the existing magneto, I think. I have used them when a Magnitron was not the right answer. A suggestion is to not depend on a rare, small and unservicable engine when there are fires to put out. Have a bake sale and spend a few hundred dollors on a 5 hp Briggs pump and move some water.
Thanks..Paul
