I looked up multipower in the manuals I have, but only found "Reverse-o-Matic"
on MF204. It uses automatic tranny fliud type "A". This unit has a pedal for foward/reverse.
Sometimes Multipower is one engine speed for 540pto and another for belt speed.
About brakes, I bought shoes from Central Tractor. If there's any oil seapage, change the inner oil seal.
The grease of the bearing tends to stay put, but the gear oil will run through.
