: MF 35 swallowed a valve and bent two pushrods badly. Can't find replacements. How is best way to straighten? Can I tap with hammer on anvil? Should I heat or not?
Old Harley Davison Service Manuals had a procedure to straighten rods if they arent TOO bent. The tolerances were indicated in the manuals. Although the tolerance for your tractor rods would be unknown, it might give you some sense of the degree to which the process will work. Try to get your hands on a Panhead (1949-1965) or Knucklehead (1936-1948) Harley OHV engine overhaul manual and see. Good Luck!
