It is a simple gadget about the size of your fist. It slips over the tractor power shaft and the mower PTO shaft connects into the O/R coupler.

It works on the same principal as a ratchet. The tractor can throw power to the mower, but when you step on the clutch the tractor stops normally while the mower free-wheels and the clutch goes tick-tick-tick.

The clutch is universal; will fit tractors with 1 3/8" PTO shaft, in your case. Some mount with no tools; others require a hammer and punch. I sell them for $55, an average price.

: I am operating a small rotary mower on the back of a small Kubota tractor and I have control problems. I believe the problem is that the tractor does not have a "live" PTO. I just learned that there is a over running clutch that can be installed to help this situation, but I know very little about such clutches. Does anyone know if such clutches are available for Kubotas and, if so, where can they be obtained other than from Kubota dealers? Are they easily installed or do I need a mechnic? How do they work? Any information would be appreciated.
