The serial number is located on a plate on the gas tank support mounted to the bell housing.If thats missing, check the engine block next to the fuel pump but remember that the engine may have been replaced and could be from a different year.Serial numbers by year:(all start with FS)
501-525:1932
526-4880:1933
4881-17410:1934
17411-48659:1935
48660-81836:1936
81837-117517:1937
117518-123942:1938
