: I am looking for a used tractor to do some mowing of a ball field and maintenance of a gravel road. My budget is $3000. I will probably need a belly mower and a scrape blade. I grew up on a farm using an AC WD and a Farmall B, so I know a little about tractors, but not much about 3-pt hitch implements. I kind of like the Ford tractors, and it looks like the 8N is close to my price range, but I'm unsure about availability of the implements I need. I would appreciate advice. Thanks in advance.

My opinion on tractors is given humbly, buy the n. My not so humble opinion on mowers is that a gang type reel mower will give you a much better maincure than any rotary mower. That said I must concece that a gang mower is a hassle to set up properly and is more expensive and if bought used has usually been abused, so it would probably be in your best interest to buy a rotary job... unless the local parks and recreation has a used gang mower they would be willing to donate. Chack too with the local schools. Buy the n... Me
