UPdate,

Problem solved, I cat a piece of wood 1"x1/4" and put it between the Diafram and the Screw that holds a sprinagainst it. I gently turned the screw inward untill I heard it letting Gas pass into the Carb. I then attempted to start the tractor and it fired right up. So, I said to myself, al least she runs after 2 years of setting up. I thought O.K. lets get a new regulator and she will be just fine. I saw the regulator start to sweat, at that time I just turn the screw all the way out to see if it would run on its own. It did, so my only guess is that it needed to be primed in someway by the Propane and it would be fine. I tried turning it off several times then restarting it. It works just fine. Thanks for all the help from the list, I have made it through another Crisis. Eric

: I have been trying to find information on how the Lp unit works on my 450. It quit running 2 years ago when my son was
: pulling out cedar trees. It has never run since. I had a problem with the unit freezing up and i just found that problem. It was the
: water line cloged that kept it from having water circulation. I have taken the unit apart and tried to study the design. But have
: no real clue as to what lets the gas pass through the unit. I assembled the unit back together then turned the propane on, it filled
: up and still wouldn't start. I checked the points and made sure it was firing. I noticed it has what appears to be a 1/4" tubing
: that goes to the Manifold and I assume causes a vacuum to mable make the unit open up the fuel. No good, I then tried
: starting fluid in the manifold directly to see idf that would make it fire, and hope it would then create the necessary vaccum
: needed. I give up, are there any books out there or someone with working knowledge of these things. It couldn't have been
: that technical back in the fifties. Please Help. Eric
