If you ground the solenoid and it doesn't fire, the problem isn't the switch. You did replace with the correct solenoid? Check all the battery cable connections, especially the ground cable at the frame. Also the the copper strip to the starter. Be sure the starter is tight and grounding to the bell housing. Or, sometimes the Bendix is jammed into the ring gear and it's getting juice, just isn't turning. Try using a jumper cable to bypass the solenoid, straight to the starter post.

: New Starter button does not work. Taking the wire off and grounding does not work either. Putting the wire directly onto the ground cable at the battery does not work either. I have replace the button and the solenoid. If it still is a grounding problem how do I fix it.
