: I would like to hear anyones ideas on the best way to clean gum and varnish off of an old carb.
: This one has sat for about 30 years and is coated inside and out. I would like to hear anyone else's methods for getting them clean.
: I would like to soak it in something to get the inside really clean.
: Thanks to all who respond.

I've had good luck with Gumout, spray or liquid. Sometimes these things have to soak for quite a while. When the crud is all gone, you can put the throttle body and other large parts in a dishwasher for a final cleaning (if your wife will let you) and brighten them a little.
