: I would like to hear anyones ideas on the best way to clean gum and varnish off of an old carb.
: This one has sat for about 30 years and is coated inside and out. I would like to hear anyone else's methods for getting them clean.
: I would like to soak it in something to get the inside really clean.
: Thanks to all who respond.
One way to clean out a carb is take it apart, remove the float, etc and then put the body of the carb in a pot of water with baking soda. Put in on the stove and boil it for awhile. This has worked well for me.
