Tim,
I just went through the same thing on my OC-3. The magneto was rebuilt and that engine roared to life on the second revolution.
Also, did you check the timing? If not, on the flywheel housing(magneto side) you will find a plug which exposes the timing mark, when the #1 cylinder is at top dead center (compression stroke). Get the motor to this position.
Remove the mag . Turn the pall counter clockwise until you see the timing mark inside the cap line up in sight window ,then re-install.
