I am rebuilding a Ford 641 and I have a problem mating
the distributor cap to the base. I have the service
and parts manual. Some pictures show a key slot which
would allow the distributor cap to fully seat & lock.
My distributor base is smooth & round, w/o a key slot.
The distributor cap doesn't fit well and all the parts
I received, came from the Ford (New Holland) dealer.
Am I missing a part?
Page 89, figure 11 T-203, of the Ford Tractor Shop Manual
1955-60 shows exactly what I see when I remove the
distributor cap. I see no keyed slot for the cap. Anyone
