: Has anyone had any luck with some type of cooling system flushing chemicals (while the tractor is assembled). I have used several over the counter automotive types with little success. I can remember having a system cleaned quite a number of years ago when they "acid cleaned' it. I know there are acid products that are used in steam boilers. Would anything like this work. Or is all this an exercise in futility?
: My intent is to try to remove as much of the 55 years of sediment from my tractor.
: Any suggestions are appreciated.

Be carefull with any kind of harsh cleaners just
for the reasons you just stated. You could cause
leaks in a radiator that old. I did it twice
before I learned. A radiator that old ,unless the
tractor is over heating should be left alone!!
