My 7.3 had a fuel leak and use running real rough, The leak turned out to be the banjo fitting on the back of the fuel pump was loose. It takes an 1 1/4 wrench to tighten that nut up and is a pain to get to. I would check the fuel hoses off the fuel pump and ckeck the banjo fitting and have someone crank it over and check to see if there is any fuel squrting out the the weep hole in the fuel pump. If its squrts fuel out the fuel pump is bad and will need to be replaced. Call around to Ford dealers and get prices on the pump, Its cheeper then the parts stores. If you have the fuel filter top off and you fill with fuel and it leaks out you could have a crack in the bowl assembely or bad Orings in the water drain lever. Keep us posted with what you find, We here can give you some tips to make your job easer. Bandit
