I'm a fan of plasma, only because I have one and I love it. LCD use to have major pixelization issues, but that has been mostly sorted out. It's still there , but barely ever noticable. You have to be caseful not to burn a plasma, but it takes some effort to burn a brand name screen, so non issue. At this point I would buy on price and brand. I wanted Panasonic, but didn't want to risk pixelizing, so I bought a plasma. Samsung, Sony, and Sharp are also good brands that offer LED/LCD. As another said, don't go too big if your only going to be watching local stuff with it. If your going to be watching DVD/Blu-Ray the majority of the time, the quality will be there, so bigger is okay.
