Glenn, Work done, care and maintenance dictate the resale value of a truck. Take a Ford and a GM, equal equipment, Work them side by side, equal treatment, maintenance, care. After 3 to 5 yrs the Ford will be in better shape thus be worth more,...... One point,,, the Beds will not support a crossover tool box at all, the bed will crack out and collapse under the wt of a normal tool box. At the corners and at the rear of where the crossover box rests. They Have to have a heavy angle iron bed cap put in place to prevent this. Certain areas are more one variety over another. Town / City trucks are by in large GMs , where the guys who work out of their trucks use Ford/Dodges and for the most part 4X4s too, most of the time. At least here in Central Texas. I can't speak for other areas of the US. From 1986 to mid 2003, Ford Crew-cabs, 4x4, F-0250s / F-350s once they are sold they just didn't come back to dealers for resale. At least that was the case prior the 6.0 Dsls. Since that debacle, that has changed. Also in that time frame you could stand on any street corner where there was a used car/truck store and there would be 2 to 5 GMs most any given time. So MY money stays on Ford, not GM here!! So far I have not said any thing Political Now I will.... FORD,,Not built with Government Bailout Money! And I hear that a lot in my day to day visiting with folks.
