Dewalt sawsall in a plastic case will not fit in the original case because the cord is like a coiled snake and will not stay in position long enough to close the lid.
Cords on new tools are too short and stiff to reload into the orignal container. They are too stiff and constantly get into the tool cutting area or are easily caught on surounding structure preventing the tool from moving freely. I stretch them out in the heat of the Sun to get them straight and if they are wound up they quickly resume the shipping position or all coiled up.
Milwaukee seems to have the solution in their products which have the tool cord which plugs in right at the tool base. It can also be easily replaced if it gets cut or damaged.
