Bob - MI said: (quoted from post at 13:59:47 10/20/09) Daughter is buying a new house and we are going to take a stab at installing hardwood flloring. It will be approx. 450/sq ft of area. We picked out a pre-finished white oak 3/4" thick.
I have been looking around for a floor stapler and the Bostitch MIIIFS seems to be the favorite for most. It's pricey at $480.00 locally and $380.00 on Ebay. There are a few knock-offs out there that are in the $150~$200 range.
I usually don't mind spending more for a quality tool and the fact is that depending on how well this effort goes I will probaly tackle installing hardwood in our house.
Any thoughts?
I am going to second the harbor freight air stapler, It comes with the hammer a small sample of staples and I think mine had a air hose, but it was one of thosecurly ones, use a straight air hose,,
I [well my nephews and son mostly-I have a bad leg]did the whole house 2 stories, with hardwood floor and that stapler worked great, I still have it.,could not rent it for the price and I was happy with the item, good luck, it takes ALOT longer than you think it will and remeber to stagger your joints, good luck, pat
