That question's kinda like how do you get to Carnagee Hall. Answer's the same, practice, practice and more practice. First thing ya do is learn to listen real good, then you go find an oldfart welder who will teach you, and practice. I started out 40 years ago with a torch, two years later I got my first buzz box. Today I own 4 torches, a plazma cutter, 4 Lincoln Rotary DC machines, 1 MIG, 3 Heliarc machines, and am still learning. If you can't find somebody to teach you, go look up your local votech or whatever they call trade school in your part of the world, and take a course in basic welding, then decide on what machine you want to start with. Bad welds only do 2 things, get people hurt or DEAD.
