A good industrial supply house will have a thread file for you. It is a square file, about 10 inches long, and has a different thread pitch on each surface. You should be able to get it good enough to start the die nut. The same thing happened to me, and I managed to to it with a triangular file. You may have to drill and retap the grease zerk. 1/8-27 NPT thread calls for a letter R drill, but 11/32 will work just fine. If depth of hole is such you can't get a pipe tap deep enough, you can take an old tap and grind off the end until you have the right tapped depth for your zerk
