Definitely try by-passing the PTO safety switch. I had the same problem. It looked like it was returning to the "safe" position, but I later noticed that it actually wasn't and was hanging about 1/4 inch from that point. I simply hooked the 2 wires together and eliminated the need for the switch. Keep in mind though that this will allow your tractor to be started while the blades are engaged!! Not safe, but cheaper if you are careful. The only other switch I came across was the neutral switch in front of the gear shift. You could try by-passing that one too to test it. If the above fail, you may have corrosion where wires slide onto a connector. One by one, take them off and lightly sand the corrosion and maybe even put on some di-electric grease. Good luck. - G
