I have read a few older posts couldn't answer my question. I have my Farmall F-20 comletely clean of heavy grease. I want to powerwash it one more time before sandblasting strictly to remove a light film of oil in a few spots. I want all of the oil off the castings to not drive it into the pores of the metal when blasting.
I wanted to ask, will Gunk Engine Brite leave a film on the metal that after sandblasting, paint won't stick to? I know this sounds a little overboard, but I just want to check. I thought even if it did leave any residue, the film of degreaser would come off with the sandblasting or wax and grease remover prior to paint. Am I correct in thinking this? Or is oven cleaner a better choice?
I'm using a commercial sandblasting unit and will be spraying PPG Omni in a full booth. This is my first tractor and the guy with the booth wanted me to look into other types of degreaser.
