In the final stages of preparing my 1961 4010D for painting. Have her just about fully sanded to bare metal throughout. No doubt it has been quite long, long, long task but she is about done.
After the sanding is done, I"ll clean the shop area real well and move over my home-grown paint booth. Then the 4010 will be wiped over several times with a wax/degreaser.
After the wax/degreaser is done, I"ll be shooting PPG Epoxy Primer and then top coating with PPG Concept. I"ve already done this with the yellow parts and they turned out exceptional.
Now...my question/thought is whether or not I should or could add a clear top coat to the PPG Concept. I realize that Concept is a single stage but would it hurt to put on a PPQ Clear Coat over top for extra protection? Tractor isn"t going to be a parade tractor....she"ll be used but I figured that a little extra protection cannot hurt. Or can it?
